A 70mm, nine-minute short subject film on exhibition at the
Osaka Maritime Museum, Osaka, Japan and the Parc of Nations, Lisbon,
Portugal. Based on historical characters, it's the adventure of a 16th
century Japanese sea captain who served as a catalyst for international
trade with Europe. Told through the mind's eye of the central character,
the story unfolds as a seamless succession of views that the audience
experiences while "flying" aboard 40 passenger electric motion bases.
Inspired by art of the Momoyama period, the film's unique look was
achieved by photographing costumed actors against blue screen which were
composited into digitally constructed sets and environments built with
Maya, Arete, and Illusion.
